Where We Are
Where We Are began with a simple idea sparked during a rehearsal: "It's a bit like a scroll." From there, the project evolved into an exploration of movement, connection, and playfulness. In collaboration with video artist Mark Dean, and performers Henry Montes, Morrighan McGillvevray, Alice Sara, and Sonia Rafferty, we revisited ideas from our previous piece Stations of the Resurrection, forming the foundation for this new iteration—Stations of the Crossing. Mark's video A Minor Place set the tone, while the lively sounds of children arriving for their Saturday classes created a rich, textured backdrop.
With the BA3 students from Trinity Laban, we developed Where We Are around the concept of "scrolling" in movement. Together, we explored how to physically 'move' each other through space, focusing on the power of touch and discovering the joyful, playful energy that comes to life in this process.
This unique collaboration celebrates the intersection of video, sound, and movement, creating a dynamic, immersive experience that invites both performers and audiences to embrace spontaneity and connection.
